The Lemon Shop In Lugo, Italy

In a world where consumerism has created a culture of mass-produced products and well-known brands that sell their clothing in almost identical stores across the world, a place like the Lemon Shop in Lugo, Italy, truly stands out. Designed by Lorenzo Capucci, the shop is housed on the ground floor of a building from the 20^th century and is accessible via two entrances. The antique details are beautifully preserved and complemented by minimalist modern features. Ornaments in relief on the ceiling, frescoes on the walls, and areas worn by the passage of time add a vintage allure and maintain the old-time charm of the building intact. Large glass doors and simple clothing rails kept to a minimum remind visitors that they are, indeed, inside a shop. The rich brown color of the wooden floors enhances the welcoming atmosphere of the place, along with the combination of natural light and other lighting sources which add a warm, golden glow. A previously private and disused building, the Lemon Shop provides a fascinating space where customers are invited to browse through clothing but where they can also enjoy various exhibitions in a unique setting. Ultimately, the success of this project lies in the designer’s ability to put the antique elements at the center of attention, with contemporary details used only sparingly.
