What do you do when it’s an Olympic year and your company is named after one of the greatest cyclists of all time and winner of silver medals at the 1912 Olympic games? You release a stylish limited edition bike to commemorate the event, of course, and also send cyclists’ hearts aflutter in the process. We’re talking about Freddie Grubb, a London-based independent bicycle manufacturer with a penchant for designing elegant and minimalist urban bikes. The Fleet DB Silver Edition references the legendary cyclist’s wins with a sleek silver finish. The bike is based on the company’s Fleet design, but it features a few changes, including new drop bars with front and rear trigger brake leavers, a black leather saddle with titanium rails and rivets, concealed automatic gears, and a streamlined aero seat post boasting a polished finish. Like all bicycles made by the company, the Fleet DB Silver has a handmade frame and premium components. It will be available in three frame sizes and each bike will be made to order in four weeks from purchase.
