A perfect example of Scandinavian design at its finest, Bulbul Watches creates beautiful timepieces we can’t help but fall in love with or write about. Now the company has teamed up with Lars Larsen, founder of industrial design studio Kilo to launch a new design to complement the popular Pebble, Facette and Ore models. The Oblong watch preserves the brand’s penchant for minimalism and elegant simplicity, offering a contemporary take on classic rectangular watches. Rounded corners soften the bold geometric shape and give the timepieces a modern look.

Oblong is very no-nonsense. This is a timepiece built on watch heritage and a fascination with timeless appearance.

“Ultimately, Oblong is very no-nonsense. This is a timepiece built on watch heritage and a fascination with timeless appearance,” says designer Lars Larsen. The minimal face, which is designed without any branding, logos, letters or even numbers, boasts two dots indicating the twelve and six markers and two simple, thin hands. Every piece used to assemble the watch is custom-made for the company; premium quality components include a Swiss-made gold plated movement with four jewels and a 10-year battery life, Italian leather straps, and steel mesh bands from German company Pforzheim. The high grade stainless steel case measures 40mm and it’s protected by a durable sapphire crystal cover, while the Bulbul signature blue silicone loop adorns the leather or metal straps. Blending contemporary Danish design, timeless style, Swiss accuracy and expertly crafted components, Oblong is designed to last and to become a stylish part of the everyday. Recently launched on Kickstarter, the sleek timepiece is available in various color and material combinations, from golden steel and brown leather to matte steel with a gray mesh band. Buy here.
