Things Get Better by Scott Campbell

Raw, brutal, fingernails against a chalk board, or positively tough, innovative, resourceful. What do these make shift tattoo guns speak to you? Something out of a horror film, maybe seems a bit unsanitary, mostly risky, pretty sure mom would disapprove. The other side argues they are freaking awesome, genius creations, make you feel fearless and macho…until the needle hits your underarm and yeeowza! Yeah, that right there burns a bit.
Tattoo culture at a maximum security prison in Mexico City influenced this collection Things Get Better, believe it or not they are water colors! Scott Campbell is the next best thing to step out of Brooklyn’s art scene with a star studded tattoo clientele and manipulating water colors for piercing prints like these. He captures every shiny metal, misses no details. It seems just unbelievable that they are stuck in a frame, all we can say is “wow.”
