To The Power Of by Jen Shark

In Jen Shark’s most recent show, To the Power Of, mathematics becomes the platform for stunning, psychedelic visualizations. The sculptural pieces use color to add an emphasized dimensionality, which paint layers upon layers of depth and fascination. The pieces, titled cleverly referencing physical or mathematical phenomena such as “Centrifugal” and “Alpha and Omega,” pay homage to visual illusions as well as the purely geometric foundations of their form. Evocative of John Maeda’s famous “Fireball,” To the Power Of yields appropriate creative authority to order, pattern, and repetition in construct, while still retaining spectral freedom and vibrancy.
