Trees and People: Low-Impact Treehouse Retreats

Trees and People is a sustainable architecture project by Bruno de Grunne and Nicolas d’Ursel of the Belgian brand Dom’Up. Suspended between trees, the innovative treehouse design provides a peaceful getaway while minimizing its impact on the environment. The elevated octagonal lodging features a galvanized steel frame, composite wood floors, retractable canvas walls, a waterproof double-roof, and a fall protection net. Ideal for a private backyard retreat or a series of glamping units, the design is natural yet upscale in aesthetic. Plus, it’s relatively easy to install; the retreat can be set up in two days or less, no crane required.
