The Unbutton Collection by Cristina Bulat draws inspiration from pin-up culture. The prototypes include bedside tables and a sideboard in white, blue, and green colorways. In each design, the top shelf peeks open like a shirt, referencing the collared blouses often seen in vintage pin-up photography. The playful shape is crafted from linden veneer, the same finish used on the bright trapezoid frame and glossy round drawer knobs. Otherwise made of solid wood, the Scandinavian design is natural and sturdy. It’s no surprise that Unbutton won first prize at the BIFE-SIM 2014 international furniture fair in Bucharest.
