Urban Beehive Condos

What’s all the buzz about? Real estate is going up in the bee world, thanks to Norwegian architecture and design firm Snøhetta. These “beehive condos,” currently perched on top of the Vulkan Bigård project at Mathallen, are giving our little winged friends a sweet place to stay in the city. The natural wooden structures are carved with an all-over honeycomb pattern. While it’s unlikely that bees care about the frills, the eye-catching design is a perk for beekeepers and might inspire more city-dwellers to get involved in urban apiary.
