Modern Bicycle Design – Yee Bike

Some designs have unexpected – but also creative – sources of inspiration. One of them is the Yee Bike. Created in a collaboration between Gochic Bicycle and the Kopus studio, this bicycle design references the famous Millau Viaduct bridge in France. The bike has an eye-catching silhouette, with a top tube that elegantly curves and extends into a basket holder at the front. Handmade from premium quality chromoly steel, the frame provides the perfect balance between rigidity and low weight, but doesn’t minimize the rustproof quality of the material. Yee also features a carbon composite Gates belt drive that ensures a smooth riding experience with zero maintenance. A coat of Ferrari car paint completes the design.

The bike’s name also has a deeper meaning. As the studio explains, “YEE” refers to the Chinese homophonic “一” and symbolizes a “man-bicycle connection.” Made in Taiwan in just 100 units, Yee comes single-speed as standard, with SRAM Automax 2-speed or 3-speed internal gears also available. Colors include burgundy, wheat gold, rose gold, and neon yellow, all complementing the Gochic eco-gray grips and saddle. Photographs© Kopus Design and Gochic Bicycle.
