100k Initiative

A special initiative that aims to start a plastic-free revolution.

To mark this year’s World Ocean Month, sustainable beverage company – and the first carbon neutral beverage brand in the world – Found has partnered with ocean advocacy group Oceana and fashion brand les girls les boys for the #the100kinitiative. The collaborative project’s name refers to a grim statistic. UNESCO puts the number of marine mammals affected and/or killed by plastic to 100,000. Since June is World Ocean Month and World Ocean Day falls on June 8, Found launched #the100kinitiative on June 1. The campaign raises awareness to the impact of plastic use on the world’s oceans and marine wildlife. At the same time, the initiative also aims to change consumers’ behavior and their continued reliance on single-use plastic.

Found has launched a limited-edition series of 100,000 glass bottles that contain the brand’s popular, naturally sparkling mineral water. Each bottle boasts a design created by world-renowned artist Amit Greenberg and all of the proceeds from the sales of this limited-edition series will go directly to Oceana. Amit Greenberg will also open an art showcase, while the fashion company will host a pop-up space as part of a week-long immersive experience in NYC, starting from June 17.

The shop will feature the fashion brand’s latest swimwear collection, with 100% of the proceeds donated to Oceana. And that’s not all. Found, les girls les boys, and Oceana will also co-host a panel with industry experts on June 12. The discussion will cover plastic-free choices and how companies and consumers can enact meaningful change to protect the oceans. However, even if you can’t attend the event in NYC, you can still make a difference by joining the 100k Initiative and pledging to use less plastic. Photographs© Found Beverage Company.
