“Case Sospese,”? or “Suspended Homes,” is a visual exploration of landscape and architecture by documentary photographer Ettore Moni. Capturing scenes along the river Po, the Parma-born photographer delved into architectural and anthropological ideas of how people transform the banks of Italy and how their lives are in turn shaped by nature. Moni’s pictures take in the greater landscape while centralizing unusual houses on stilts, boats, and barges: the man-made forms people build on the border between cities and seeming wilderness.
