In this awe-inspiring video by Prairie Aerial, Kevin Schmidt goes to work, changing an airplane safety light bulb on a 1500-foot television broadcast tower. He scales metal railing painted in red and white while a camera follows his path. Shot from a quadrocopter, the short video films Schmidt’s journey to the top from his level, simulating the rare experience for viewers at home. In the background, the South Dakota plains can be seen plotted out in farms and subdivisions, a rural midwestern landscape most people would only see from the other side of an airplane window. Once Schmidt reaches the top, he simply changes the light bulb and takes a selfie. Why not.
