Cloudy House by Takao Shiotsuka Atelier

View all 20 Photos

A superb two story private dwelling designed by Takao Shiotsuka Atelier located in the suburbs of Oita City, Japan the Cloudy House is surrounded by other low lying houses as well as farmlands and fields. The design concept is to create a living space that’s open to its environment using the flow of light and wind. The metallic cladding wraps around the elevations and roof with skylights extruding out of the surface, built in shelves run from one end of the house to the other transforming the space into a library. The interior is filled with tons of  natural daylight, accentuated by the light shades of the wood chosen. Two large holes on the roof lead to outdoor terraces which gives a pleasant and relaxing view of the surroundings.
