Yiannis Ghikas

Industrial designer Yiannis Ghikas was born in Athens, Greece. His background in Computer Science has a strong influence on his designs. While functionality becomes the ultimate goal, the designer also explores ways to evoke emotive responses with his product design work. The Yiannis Ghikas Design studio completes an array of projects, from furniture and lighting to decorative items, tableware, and home accessories. Clients include both Greek and international companies. Exhibited worldwide, the designer’s work has also received prestigious awards; his “Monarchy” stool has received the 2009 Red Dot Design Award, while the “Monarchy” chair has received the 2016 German Design Award.
