Custom Royal Enfield, The Legend Bike

A custom bike made for La Ruta Del Nabab, a 1000 km race in Morocco.

Race pilot and bike builder Giorgio De Angelis has customized a Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle for La Ruta Del Nabab, a grueling race across more than 1000 km of Moroccan roads with sandy and stony terrain. To make sure that the bike can handle the pressure, De Angelis customized it with endurance and durability in mind. Easy handling and versatility also played an important part in creating the concept for the custom build. Named The Legend, the bike now features a handcrafted front section that keeps the original dashboard with all the instruments as well as an approved headlight. The headlight and front fender also feature a new protection grille. A new handlebar with a 28/22 mm adjustable section features both high risers and hand protection.

Likewise, the rear is now much lighter as De Angelis removed the extra seating space, originally meant for a passenger. Now, this section features a luggage rack system. Also on the rear section, there’s a new handcrafted titanium exhaust system. As the motorcycle needs to handle difficult terrain, there’s a modified braking system with custom Frentubo brake pipes. An additional control unit gives the engine extra speed. With a few kilograms of weight shaved off, the Royal Enfield The Legend is more agile and reactive as well as easier to handle on and off-road.
