Designer Quentin de Coster creates objects that blend a modern aesthetic with function and gorgeous textures in designs that add a meaningful accent to the everyday. The recently launched Dash Dot desk set, designed for NY-based Othr, embodies all of these qualities. And more. Inspired by the Belgian péniche boat, the set references the mode of merchandise transportation in two beautiful and ingenious products meant to hold a vast array of small items.
Crafted in 3D printed bronze, both the Dash and the Dot boast eye-catching textures along with rich tones, bringing a touch of sophistication to office spaces. As practical as it is elegant, the desk set features a hollow interior, providing two types of surfaces that suit a wide range of writing tools and office accessories. It also doubles as a stylish paperweight solution. Sculptural and almost monolithic in appearance, the two items look like a work of minimalist art while also offering a convenient way to display and store smaller objects. You can find the Dash Dot set in a numbered edition on the Othr website. The items are also available separately.
