Atelier L’Abri is a Montreal-based architecture studio founded in 2013 by architects Francis Martel-Labrecque, Nicolas Lapierre, and Francis Pelletier while they were students at Université de Montréal. The practice works across residential, commercial, hospitality, and public projects, combining architecture and construction through a design-build approach.
Rooted in the craft of building, the studio develops projects from initial concept through realization. Its work prioritizes efficient planning, durable materials, local sourcing, and a close response to climate and site. Contemporary forms are balanced with warm interiors and natural materials, whether in urban renovations, Passive House residences, workplaces, or small structures embedded in remote landscapes.
Across projects such as Maison Melba, Farouche Tremblant, and Territoire Charlevoix, Atelier L’Abri explores how architecture can reduce its environmental impact while improving daily life. Rather than applying a fixed visual language, the team adapts each project to its program, surroundings, and users, creating buildings that are practical, welcoming, and made to endure.
