François Verhoeven

François Verhoeven is a Dutch architect and architectural photographer. While studying architecture and for many years after his graduation, he restored old wooden ships in the harbors of Rotterdam and then Delft. In 1993, he co-founded the FilliéVerhoeven studio with Dennis Fillié. In 2021, he established his independent, eponymous architecture firm in The Hague. Focusing on sustainable practices, François Verhoeven completes a wide range of projects that incorporate natural and recycled materials, Passivhaus principles, and other environmentally friendly features. The buildings are also minimalist and timeless, often featuring clean geometric forms that take inspiration from vernacular architecture. François Verhoeven currently lives and works in The Hague, the Netherlands.
