Homeroom Studio

Melbourne, Australia

Homeroom Studio is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary practice founded in 2003 by interior designer Romy Dankner. Working across interior design, architecture, landscape, and furniture curation, the studio develops residential projects in Australia and abroad. Its portfolio includes new houses, coastal and country retreats, heritage renovations, and inner-city homes. Dankner’s background in medical design informs the practice’s attention to movement and the physical experience of space.

The studio begins with how a home will be used and works outward, allowing daily routines and the setting to guide the plan. Spatial organization, light, views, joinery, materials, art, and furniture are developed together from the earliest stages. Timber, natural stone, textured fabrics, custom pieces, and collected objects bring warmth and individuality to the interiors. Homeroom Studio also works with architects, artists, makers, and specialist consultants, assembling a team around the needs of each project.
