Lukas Raeber

Basel, Switzerland

Studio Lukas Raeber is a Basel-based office working across architecture, urban planning, and object design for private and public clients. The studio handles projects from early advice and concept through to delivery.

Recent work moves between housing and education. In Basel’s Matthäusquartier, the Efringerstrasse project adds four timber floors—prefabricated, deconstructible—above an existing metal workshop, its sawtooth roof aligned for solar gain. In Basel’s Traffic Garden, a compact school building choreographs circulation and outdoor learning. The studio’s “School Bota” in Tann continues that focus on clear structure and site-specific outdoor space.

Alongside built work, competition results include first prize for the Kappeli school complex in St. Gallen and second prizes for schools in Ruggell and Wetzikon—evidence of a practice that tests ideas at urban and building scale before they reach site.

Across commissions, the office starts with the brief and context, then refines a few decisive moves through drawings, models, and on-site coordination to make durable, legible spaces.
