Designed by SoNo Arhitekti, House M is a family residence in the countryside of Slovenia. The contemporary home was just completed in 2015, yet it echoes traditional architecture with its simple gabled roof and rectangular shape. The building is composed of three volumes, all intersecting on the ground floor kitchen and dining room. At the center of this point of convergence, there stands a sculptural staircase. The stairway is crafted from wood and features convenient modern details such as built-in storage and nesting furniture, so that it can be easily personalized and rearranged over time. Other interior details of note include the lofted library and spacious walk-in closets. On the outside, the home is clad in white and black wood and fiber-cement panels for a dramatic, matte look.
