FIKA by ON Design Partners

A quaint shop for Scandinavian sundries, FIKA is situated at the corner of a street in Nagasaki, Tokyo, with its prime location at the intersection drawing attention to the goods on the display shelf. The layout of store, designed by Yokohama-based firm ON Design Partners, is intended to curate the sundries as a precious object and not just a product. Windows are carefully placed to make use of sunlight as spotlights for the items on display. The white interiors of FIKA, accents of light blue paint, and wooden furniture accents including doors and countertops help create an environment that lets the goods take center stage – or rather, shelf.
