Pushing the boundaries of lighting design, the new Filamento light has a sculptural shape that draws attention at a glance. More than just a decorative item and functional object, the product also explores the linear form of light as it travels through glass with various shapes. Marta Alonso and Imanol Calderon of Madrid-based Mayice Studio designed Filamento with a creative silhouette. It features a single piece of glass with both concave and convex volumes.
Measuring more than one meter in length, the lighting showcases the linearity of the light while in use. As the photons travel through the glass enclosure, they minimize the form, putting the light on center stage. At the same time, Filamento stands out when not in use, when its artistic shape accentuates every line and curve of the glass. Crafted in Spain, the light suits a wide range of interiors, from modern homes to offices and commercial properties. Or anywhere that requires a creative accent.
