Of course a lake house should boast a fantastic view of the lake, but what about a great view of the home’s own interiors? Both are priorities in Huillinco Lake House designed by Del Campo – Labbe. Though blessed with a generous vantage point, the Chilean getaway is nestled into the slope of a hill, and is hidden by the shadow of the neighboring trees. With a series of skylights and strategic glazed panels, light is brought into the home from above, as if the heavens themselves illuminate the wooden floorboards and siding. Much of the kitchen’s electronics are housed in wooden frames and outlines, which helps preserve the intimate environment created within the lake house. In place of a traditional dining table, a picnic bench is the focus of the living space – perfect for the blending of interior and exterior.
