Jack o’Lantern By Lucie Koldova

Sophisticated lighting inspired by a playful concept.

Drawing inspiration from traditional jack-o’-lanterns, Prague-based designer Lucie Koldova created a modern light that refines the concept in an elegant way. Made for Czech high-end lighting manufacturer Brokis, the light displays the designer’s clean and charismatic style. The design marries aesthetic elegance and function with creativity. Jack o’Lantern features a simple metal frame that houses a hand-blown glass sphere. The former has a clean geometric design, while the latter boasts a matte surface. As a result, the light illuminates living spaces with a soft glow creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Designed with function in mind, the lights provide different installation options. The user can hang them on their own or in a group, as part of a vertical composition. The brand also offers a wall-mounted version, with five frames in a single module and up to five glass spheres which stay in place thanks to gravity. The lighting will make its debut at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair, which takes place between 17-22 April. Apart from Jack o’Lantern, the designer will also exhibit other new lighting designs, in the Agapecasa and Agape12 showrooms in the Brera district. Photographs© Lucie Koldova and Brokis.
