The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Watch Collection

A modern take on a vintage icon.

Renowned Swiss brand Jaeger-LeCoultre has been making timepieces since the 1800s using a blend of fine watchmaking techniques, elegant design, and dedication to perfection. In 2018, the company maintains the same principles, while adding contemporary refinement to the designs. Launched at SIHH Geneve 2018, the Jaeger Lecoultre Polaris watch collection features the exquisite craftsmanship one would expect from the brand, as well as classic and modern design details. The collection takes inspiration from the 1968 Memovox Polaris timepiece. As a result, the watches have a distinctive vintage aesthetic, complemented by sporty design cues that reference the character of the original.

The Polaris range includes the centerpiece, the three-hand automatic, a chronograph and a world time chronograph. Polaris Date and Polaris Memovox complete the lineup. The timepieces boast an in-house-made mechanical movement, beautifully put on display by the exhibition caseback. On the dial of the automatic watch, three concentric circles create a dynamic and refined design. The center references the 1968 Memovox Polaris model and features a sunray-brushed finish, while the outer section boasts a matte grain surface. Finally, the rotating inner bezel has a stylish opaline finish.

The numerals, hour markers and the hands boast a luminescent finish to ensure optimal readability even in low-light conditions. Strap options include a three-link metal bracelet as well as alligator or calfskin leather straps in black or brown. The prices range from $6,600 for the automatic watch to $24,000 for the rose gold version of the Polaris Chronograph. Photographs© Jaeger-LeCoultre.
