Mirador House by Matias Zegers Arquitectos

Miraris the Spanish infinitive that conveys the deliberate act of viewing and facing. Naturally, Mirador House designed by Matias Zegers Arquitectos overlooks the vineyards across the Casablanca landscape. The grand sunset across the rows of plantings are guarded by two parallel towers of layered concrete, which sandwich the transparent glass and internal courtyard. The slab construction of the erected walls reflect the dusty brown and ochre hues of the terrain, but also feature cutouts that are, in their own sense, viewfinders as well. A hipped roof bridges the two sides separated by the glazing, and forms a shelter over a cypress banquet table that seats a number of guests looking to enjoy the fruits (both the wine, and the beauty) of the land.
