A state-of-the-art wireless speaker specially made to offer excellent sound quality in a timeless design.

Since 2009, Swedish audio brand Nocs Design has been making high-end products that include speakers as well as earphones and headphones. Created for professional DJs and audiophiles, the brand’s collection also provides the perfect blend of cutting-edge technology and quality craftsmanship. Additionally, all Nocs Design products are elegantly minimalist. The new Monolith speaker showcases all of these features perfectly. Two years in development, the speaker combines timeless design with high-end Nocs sound, delivering a world-class listening experience in all types of settings. Monolith works either on its own or in a series of several synchronized speakers.

Right from the start, without pressing “Play”, the beautifully craftsmanship speaks volumes. The company uses locally sourced birch plywood for the box. CNC-machined to a perfect geometry, the wood is then finished with an oil and wax treatment. The black birch plywood boasts a matte black finish that lets the grain shine with a subtle texture.

Cutting-edge technology in a beautifully crafted speaker.

Partnering with Scan-Speak, a Denmark-based company, Nocs Design uses high-end speaker drivers for Monolith. Engineered to perfection in collaboration with the musician community, the speaker features finely tuned drivers that perform to an exceptional standard. Premium components and a custom, in-house developed piezo vent design that takes inspiration from car exhaust systems complete the design. And the result? A gorgeous speaker that produces superb audio with a clear quality, less distortion and deep bass.

Monolith is also a great example of cradle-to-cradle, sustainable design. The brand produces the speaker in Sweden, where it’s crafted by hand and then assembled in the Nocs Lab headquarters in Lund. The modular build allows easy repairs and even upgrades over time. Among notable tech specs, we have to mention that this speaker comes with two dual vented 6’’ woofers, three full range 2.5″ drivers, and NAT, or Nocs amplitude tuning. Apart from multi-room playback capability with up to 8 connected Monoliths, or up to 16 with optimal WiFi, this speaker also offers Spotify and Tidal connectivity. Available for pre-order now, Monolith costs $1,200 or €1,500, with shipping starting from the end of January 2023. Photography © Ion Kombokis. Images courtesy of Nocs Design.
