Appropriate to the urban scene, Trevor Traynor is capturing his latest photographic works with an iPhone camera. NewsStand Project is a journey of photographs, each one a pit stop at a newsstand in the city. The instigator, at Broadway and Morris in NYC, is only one of many colorful photographs that poignantly – yet realistically – frame the stand owner in his or her natural, working element. The layers of colors from bags of chips, the rainbows of candy bars, and the portrait-in-a-portrait of magazine covers create busy and eye-catching compositions. Consider these images a brief moment of fame for the humble and hard-working newsstand owners.
