Refurbished Home on the Island of Mallorca

View all 14 Photos

Called “Town House,” this island home was refurbished by Alberto Sanchez of SMS Arquitectos, a firm based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, alongside Apolonia Salvà and Aina Salvà. The historic home is part of the Spanish village Es Llombards, and, in updating the property, the team took special care to honor its past and the surrounding architecture. Thus, the exterior is traditionally clad in stone and accented with wooden doors and shutters, painted dark green for a bright yet earthy look. The interior of the two-story house also sticks to the classics: white walls and naturally finished wood. In the backyard, the timeless space is enhanced by the pool and pomegranate trees, which put experiences of the outdoors at the heart of the project.
