The Six Senses Shaharut Hotel

The ultimate Israel desert hotel experience.

As part of a planned 60-hotel expansion over the course of nine years, hotel brand Six Senses has announced the opening of a new Israel desert hotel: Six Senses Saharut. Located in the Negev Desert, the hotel provides the ultimate desert getaway experience, with breathtaking views of the Edom Mountains. The architecture pays homage to the nomadic structures of the Nabataean community which lived in the Arava Valley more than 2,000 years ago. It also draws inspiration from the desert’s color palette and rock formations.

Integrated into the topography to preserve the natural landscape, the villas blend into the setting naturally. Apart from links to the area’s history, culture, and character, the hotel also has an eco-friendly design and build, with doors crafted from reclaimed wood and many items sourced from local artisans. Undoubtedly refined, this Israel desert hotel welcomes guests into stylish rooms and suites.

The guests can choose between the 60 villas and suites, including a two-bedroom villa with a private pool. For those who want to make their stay extra-special, the Private Reserve three-bedroom retreat boasts stunning views of the mountains. This apartment measures 6,930 square feet that include a spa and fitness room; a 775 square foot outdoor area with a private terrace and pool opens to the incredible panorama.

All of the hotel rooms feature a chic décor that puts a focus on wood, stone, and natural textiles. Six Senses Shaharat also provides a range of experiences. These include camel treks at sunset, sunrise yoga workshops, and stargazing sessions as well as jeep safaris and hiking. Guests who want to relax can enjoy a variety of wellness programs on offer at the hotel’s spa. The Six Senses Shaharut Israel desert hotel opens its doors in June, 2020. Photographs© Six Senses.
