The Soori Bali Resort

Built on the south-western coast of Bali, the Soori Bali resort occupies a secluded area between the ocean on one side and Mount Batukaru, lush vegetation, and terraced rice fields on the other. Renowned architect Soo K. Chan, who owns and operates Soori Bali, designed the complex as a relaxing refuge. This resort in Bali with private beach puts the focus on sustainability while also celebrating the local context. Through his award-winning firm SCDA Architects, Soo K. Chan designed every detail of the retreat, from the architecture and interiors to the choice of materials.

This elegant resort in Bali with private beach comprises 48 villas. All of them provide access to private pools as well as to sweeping views. Some rooms offer views of the mountains, while others open towards the volcanic black sand beach and the ocean beyond. The use of locally sourced materials anchors the stylish retreat into its setting. At the same time, the textured light gray volcanic stone, used throughout the villas, offers the perfect counterpoint to the refined interior design. The suites feature white and natural stone walls, black stained wood furniture, and polished flooring. Other details include bronze and stone accessories created in a collaboration with local craftsmen. Likewise, the spa boasts floral tiles made by artisans from the neighboring Pejaten village.

Apart from the spa and the gym, guests can also drop by the resort’s two restaurants. While one offers an Asian menu with local specialties, the other focuses on international cuisine. Both restaurants at Soori Bali use spices from the retreat’s own garden and fresh produce sourced from local farms.
