Stealth Cabin

View all 9 Photos

Superkül created this environmentally-friendly cabin near Bracebridge in Ontario, Canada. They chose the lakeside site for maximum views and minimum damage to the surrounding trees. Drawing inspiration from the slope of the land, they built the cabin with a gentle curve. In addition to favoring natural forms, the structure is designed for passive cooling and ventilation, increasing the overall energy- and cost-efficiency. The building is lined with untreated, locally-sourced cedar inside and out, supporting the local economy, utilizing sustainable materials, and allowing the construction to gray with age so that it stealthily fades into the background.
