Ta_volo presents a conversation between heavy and light as embodied by marble and iron, respectively. Milanese architect Franz Siccardi facilitates this discourse by elevating the iron plate, which “flys” above the marble, through its thin construction and the bright pop of color. To create this visual illusion of intersection, a cut in the marble is made where the metal touches stone. Naturally, the balance between classical and modern also arises simply by virtue of the chose material complexities of the table.
