The M house by MDBA, Guallart Architects

View all 11 Photos

An explicit marriage between the ancient and the present intertwines building materials like concrete, metal, wood, stone. Industrial roofing and steel beams are bold and define the space as adaptable. The M house as it is called is sandwiched between a row of residents aging gracefully in the village of La Nou de Gaia, Spain. The construction by MDBA, Guallart Architects leaves clean finishes, with floating staircases and tremendous windows to reach the generous ceiling heights. However, the most pivotal amenity directs your attention to the amazing view of the landscape coined Els masos de Vespella. The backside of the home extends every floor into an opportunity to take in its spectacular sunsets with multiple terraces and a large patio.
