In the POP Art Collection, Italian designer Marco Laganà treats a pair of shoes look a piece of meat. Laganà presents the new line of handcrafted Italian footwear with what we like to think of as tasteful shock value: mass market packaging commonly used for food. For the teaser, men’s brogues, loafers, and sneakers are displayed on styrofoam plates, dumped in plastic bags, hung on meathooks, and put out on ice. The cheeky, sardonic juxtaposition of high and low actually underscores the quality of the shoes, letting their craftsmanship shine amidst the banal. Be on the lookout for the shoes themselves in fall and winter of 2015.
