These sober and calming interiors are the museum-quality work of interior designers Luc d’Hanis and Sofie Lachaert for their Tielrode Bed and Breakfast.
Tielrode is a small town in Belgium conveniently located at short distance to Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent, which is immersed in a magnificent river landscape right where the Durme meets the Schelde.
With a keen eye for detail Lachaert & d’Hanis personally designed the décor of this guesthouse, a fascinating blend of contemporary design and art and objects from the nearby gallery. Much of what you see is also for sale.
Our designers are from all over the world and the things we represent are functional. For example, we have a beautiful vase here by a designer from Argentina. The artist was trained as a painter, so it’s very nice to look at, it’s like a painting, but it still functions as a vase, if you dare to put flowers in it.
In the morning an extensive, royal breakfast is served in the gallery, using silver, cutlery and tableware designed by artists of the gallery. You can enjoy home-made rolls and jam, eggs from the B&B’s own henhouse, freshly brewed coffee and top class tea from Damman. Be aware that at a certain point will be time to leave and go back to reality, that can be the only down side.
