A contemporary diver watch inspired by a vintage design.

Based in Le Locle, Switzerland, leading watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin has been making premium quality timepieces for more than 170 years. The brand’s latest dive watch reinforces the relaunch of the Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronometer Collection. At the same time, the design links two eras in the company’s history in an elegant way. The Diver Chronometer 42mm references Ulysse Nardin’s 1964 “Diver Le Locle” timepiece, but in a contemporary design. While the watch features the same concave bezel and domed sapphire glass of the new generation of dive watches, it also boasts vintage-inspired design cues. These include a clean dial, retro beige accents, and a seconds hand at the center. The GPS coordinates of the brand’s hometown of Le Locle also appear on the dial.

Diver-style elements include SuperLuminova coating on the 0, hands, and rotating bezel. This ensures optimal readability even in low-lighting diving conditions. Naturally, the Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronometer 42mm has superior water resistance compared to regular timepieces, of up to 300 meters. Innovative silicon technology originally introduced by Ulysse Nardin provides cutting-edge quality to the collection. Strap options include black leather, blue fabric, and stainless steel as well as a thick, hand-stitched Milanese mesh band that boasts a vintage-style butterfly buckle.

The standout design of the new 42mm line, the Diver Blue Shark Limited Edition features a stainless steel case with a PVD blue bezel, blue dial, and a blue shark stamped on the case back. A strap designed with vibrant orange accents completes this exclusive timepiece. The Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronometer 42mm is available now online and at selected retailers. If you want to grab a Diver Blue Shark, keep in mind that the series is limited to 300 pieces. Photographs© Ulysse Nardin.
