Originally presented at Salone del Mobile in Milan, Villa is now a part of Colos’ permanent collection. Designed by Jun Yasumoto for the Italian furniture manufacturer, the chair shares some details in common with the designer’s previous Colos collection, the Piazza line. More specifically, the Villa chair blends both classic and contemporary designs elements. It features elegant curved volumes and clean lines as well as an ingenious build. Drawing inspiration from the natural cane seating typical of many coffee shop terraces in Paris, the chair features an ingenious assembly of the steel rod frame. While the pairing of thin metal rods highlights the design of separate parts, the frame’s build also ensures superior structural rigidity.
The metal mesh shell enhances the lightness of the Villa chair further. Elevated laterally above the legs, the shell allows the user to grab the sides with ease. That way, moving seating around a garden or in and out of storage is as convenient as possible. Villa comes in a chair and an armchair version, both available in five colors. Specifically suitable for outdoor use, the design provides the perfect solution to create a stylish living space on a terrace. Photographs© Colos.
