Withings Activité Pop Smartwatch

New from the health technology brand Withings, the Activité Pop is a sportier version of their Activité normal smartwatch. Like its predecessor, the Pop smartwatch resembles a traditional timepiece, though the PVD-coated case and silicone strap make this effort more youthful and budget-friendly than the original French design. The resulting piece is not so finely crafted but actually looks like a watch that an average person would wear outside on a jog.

The wristwatch has a two-hand movement and an extra analog dial representing the wearer’s daily activity. The design comes packaged as a monochrome accessory in one of three colors: black, blue, or sand. The style item can then be customized with bright straps in shades of teal, orange, and mulberry.

As a fitness tracker, the Activité Pop delivers on all the expected features. The water-resistant watch records steps, laps, and distance as one walks, runs, and swims. In quieter moments, the watch also detects light and deep sleeping patterns and functions as a silent vibration alarm.

The device connects with the user’s smartphone over Bluetooth and offers detailed reports and social competitions via the accompanying app. Unlike most smartwatches, which usually need to be charged every night, this piece of wearable technology comes with a button cell battery that lasts eight months. Now available for pre-order, the Activité Pop is priced at $150 and set for wide release in March.
