Multidisciplinary design firm Girelli Studio focuses on industrial and product design. Founder David Girelli’s designs are minimalist and elegant, often echoing Scandinavian and Japanese design cues. The Arch Chair is a perfect example. Currently only a concept, this chair is bold and sophisticated at the same time. It tastefully blends elements of mid-century modern design and minimalist architecture in an eye-catching silhouette that is sculptural and contemporary. While it appears as having a rocking base, Arch stands firmly on an angular structure that curves at the back. The slanted seat enhances seating comfort, making the user feel like they’re plunging into a pool of relaxation.
Angular armrests that mirror the clean lines of the frame complement the angled seat and the rounded back structure. Crafted with a sturdy ash wood frame and base, this creative chair features a plywood backrest. The studio presented the concept in different colors, from dark brown and black to red. Regardless of finish and hue, the Arch Chair would make a striking addition to any living space or hospitality setting. As far as lounge chairs go, this one certainly doubles as a decorative accent in a room. Images © Girelli Studio.
