Furniture Design
FICT (From Craft to Industry) is a Seoul-based independent design studio. Founded by designer Jang Hea Kyoung, the studio makes furniture and home accessories via experimental design and crafting processes. For example, the Fragment Series combines crystal resin and pieces of marble left over as industrial waste during the marble manufacturing process. In the Dummy Series, the designer used foam and resin to offer a fresh take on furniture design. Imaginative and distinctive, the studio’s work often puts a focus on the beauty of natural materials in a creative way. Jang Hea Kyoung has exhibited her work around the world, including at Maison & Objet, the London Design Fair, and the Lake Como Design Fair.
