Turning Boxes By Hans Sandgren Jakobsen

Furniture Design
The Hans Sandgren Jakobsen studio is based in the beautiful coastal town of Grenna, in the Danish Jutlandic peninsula. Founded in 1999 by Hans Sandgren Jakobsen, the design studio creates furniture and products strongly influenced by a minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic, with functionality placed at the heart of every design. For each product, the team starts with sketches which are then developed into finished drawings, 1:5 scale models and finally into 1:1 prototypes. The studio collaborates closely with the manufacturers to ensure the quality and finish of every project. An innovative use of materials and exploration of form can be found throughout the studio’s work, while a “less is more” attitude lends the products an international and timeless appeal.
