Innauer-Matt Architekten

Bezau, Austria

Austrian architects Markus Innauer and Sven Matt met in high school. They went on to study architecture and engineering before each working with different architecture practices in Austria and Paris. They co-founded the Innauer-Matt Architekten studio in 2012. Inspired by the natural beauty and vernacular architecture of their native region of Bregenzerwald, the two architects design restrained buildings that exude a distinctive character and atmosphere. The studio’s work is defined by refined minimalism and thoughtful design. Projects completed by the Innauer-Matt Architekten studio include numerous private residences as well as the stone Wirmboden Chapel, the contemporary Bergrestaurant, or the Pavilion KG that allows visitors to admire the beauty of traditional wood crafting techniques.
