Iruma, Japan
Founded in 2006 by Tokyo-born architect–designer Koji Mori, We inc. works from twin workshops in Iruma (Saitama) and Zushi (Kanagawa). Mori’s early years on building sites—framing houses in standard and 2×4 systems, restoring shrines with temple carpenters, fitting out shops—still shape the studio’s design-build approach: draw it, craft it, stand behind it on site.
The practice centers on private houses but expands outward into furniture, lighting, and small-batch products, many sparked by day-to-day life with the founder’s Labrador retriever. Photography, film, and brand art direction round out the work, allowing a single narrative thread from first sketch to finished object or space. Whether shaping a cedar-lined living room or a brass dog-bowl stand, Mori looks for details that feel inevitable once in use and durable enough to age well.
