EHang184 – Taking The Drone Concept To New Heights

View all 8 Photos

Founded in 2014 in Guangzhou, China by bright minds coming from MIT, Tsinghua University, Duke University, and UCLA, it’s no wonder that EHang has become the fastest growing company in the drone sector. Innovation stands at the core of the company’s ethos, with the team of engineers revolutionizing the classic RC control and constantly looking for new ways to improve the hardware and software of their products. With branches opened in Shanghai, Beijing, and San Francisco, EHang prepares to take the industry by storm; you only have to look at their latest drone model EHANG184 to see that the company is already making history. Designed as an Autonomous Aerial Vehicle (AAV), this one-passenger and completely electric drone has a reliable fail-safe system for peace of mind and eight rotors that produce 142 horsepower – enough to reach 62 miles per hour and to transport a passenger weighing up to 220 lbs. The aerodynamic cabin features graceful curves, while the large windshield ensures an unobstructed viewing experience, allowing the user to admire the urban or natural landscape below. Convenience is placed at the forefront of the design and EHANG184 offers an efficient and certainly stylish way to travel on medium and short distances – 23 minutes on one charge. A sleek and elegant interior with an ergonomic seat provides plenty of comfort, while a 12-inch display reveals one of the most impressive aspects of the entire concept. Passengers can simply use the innovative EHang app to choose their destination by touching the screen, then they can simply relax and enjoy the ride. The 184 model has already made waves in the industry, winning the Best Drone Award at CES 2015. As the company plans on getting the unit to market within 3-4 months, it’s clear that the future is here.
