Elissa Medina’s Custom Huichol Rugs

View all 9 Photos

Individual hexagon shapes link up together into beautiful Huichol rugs by Elissa Medina.  Her inspiration comes from the distinct tapestries as made by the Huichol Indians of the Sierra Madres.  Taking on the form of an animal skin, they are covered with folk art patterns and symbols for a truly authentic look. Over 80 hours of work goes into the impressive details, handmade in Mexico  of 100% felt.  Each tile is a custom color designed by you.  Take advantage of the freedom to be involved in creating your own rug just the way you envisioned it.
