The bare minimum is all you need to bring to this summer cabin by Paris studio Septembre on the island of Trossö resting to the west coast of Sweden. Built for two, the quaint space deletes distractions and brings visitors to a pure, intimate setting. Its sauna nestles in close with a separate entrance, collected together by a useful outdoor platform. Large square windows provide maximum connection to nature and exquisite views of the sea just a few 50 meters away. The sharp black exterior is painted Swedish spruce, so simple an interior constructed of only plywood. The bed is primitive tucked into the floor with customized storage that rolls out from underneath. Everything has its purpose, though few items made the cut, and so the clients have themselves a blissful retreat accommodating only the important things….each other.

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
