GMG House by Pedro Gadanho

Upon first step into GMG House, the eyes are drawn to vivid, nearly-fluorescent bursts of color. Pedro Gadanho, the designer of this funhouse, uses color to highlight certain elements, treating the white canvas of the house as a medium for an artistic rendition of the interiors. A light cyan staircase sidles up against a bright yellow wall, and a fire engine red cutout forms a window seat on the second floor of the house. Pink and lemongrass cabinets are carved as nuanced shapes, and each of these lacquered elements in the Portuguese residence effuse a natural glow under any artificial or natural light. The clean, modern design of the house interiors are livened by the variegated hues as Gadanho finds the courage to go where most architects dare not: color. Photography Fernando Guerra | FG+SG
