Garden Cinema Studio by LATIS

Garden Cinema Studio, a project from architecture firm LATIS, takes into account all three programmatic components that form its considerate design. The studio in east London incorporates the garden into its organization by sandwiching the ground plane between the half-basement studio space and a smaller studio mezzanine above the earthen floor. A strip of clerestories allow light to penetrate the interior of the house below ground, while a single, large pane of glass and white wall behind become the main components for the cinema projection space. This outdoor extension of the studio into the cinema embraces the garden as another gathering space, a public intervention for the private studio workspace.
